Best practices for staging and publishing large numbers of records at once?

We have been working on migrating our blog to Datocms. We are using a standard draft/published setup.

We often have need to batch publish over 20 records at once, which is easily done, but I was wondering if there are any other suggested flows for when you have a large number of records all related to a single project that need to be published at once.

The main concern is that it may be difficult to keep track of the draft content as there will be other content being drafted and published while these are being worked on. This also means an environment isn’t a great fit for this.

We’re fine with the standard draft/batch publish, but anything I can do to make things easier for my end users would be great.

Sorry @fitzage,

We don’t have a good built-in solution for this yet. But we do have a workaround that might help: Bulk Scheduled Publishing in DATO CMS - #3 by roger

(TLDR make a record with a multi-link field to all the other records. By way of a validation setting, this “master” record can then cause all the linked-to records to also publish when it itself is published.)

I think we may actually use a specific workflow status for this, so that the list can be filtered by that status and then the items can be easily batch published.
