Update the drop down selector used for localized link/links field to only show records which contain the locale you are currently working in instead of all records. This is the most common use-case and should be surfaced to users as the first option.
Currently when you are working with a localized links/links (i’ll use links as short hand from here) and you use the drop down to select a record you want to link to, you see all records. This is in most cases not what you want as records that does not contain the current locale will not contain a value when you send a query. Instead i think that a “contains the current locale” filter should be applied here. More confusing is that this filter is already applied by default when you press the button “From library”. So there seems to be some acknowledgment that this is what users wants to see.
To give an example we have a specific Swedish version of an records which needs to be linked to from another record. I open the Swedish locale and navigate to the links field and press the drop down. And this is what greets me, the top 4 records on the target model, none of these records contains Swedish and are not relevant for me. If we did not use a naming standard I might not even be able to find the correct record in this list.
Since I’ve worked in Dato previously and know that this is the case. I would not use the drop down and instead press the “From library” button which would show the only relevant record for me:
