Resurrecting this thread! I voted for this feature too, and I can confirm it’s the one my clients and their editors ask about the most. On 4 of my last 5 projects, the client specifically asked for tables in Structured Text. For some of them we implemented a workaround, but it’s not ideal (HTML text inside a Block). I understand the considerations discussed in this thread, and I’m still hoping this gets enough traction someday! 
We’ve done some early explorations, but nothing concrete yet.
I’ll prod the devs about this once again!
