Validation on Alt descriptions of Images failing on non-default locales

Hi there!

We are experiencing on several different projects, that the validation of missing ALT description on image fields is failing on all locales other than default. This is causing the editors not to be alert when they miss inserting Alt descriptions, which are required by the configuration. Subsequently the build is failing, and alt images have to be check again on all locales.

We noticed that this starterd to happen after implementing Live Updates functionality (not sure if relevant).

Have you experienced anything similar before? Or would you recommend some different configuration?

Sorry, this is a known issue with our localization & validation system :frowning: I have a plugin in development that might help with this… would your editors want to try it out, perhaps? It would prompt them whenever it detects an image field with missing alt text in the existing locales.

If that would help, let me clean up the plugin a bit and share the beta version with you.

The plugin works something like this (draft UI subject to change):

It sits below each image, and will alert the editor when one or more locales in use is missing the alt text or title.

I should have it ready by early next week. Please let me know if this would be helpful for your editors.
