Would it make sense to allow the sidebar to expand to show its contents by default — up to some maximum beyond which it’s your choice to expand it further?
I’m always frustrated by sidebars that have items with a couple of characters missing, when the computer could deal with that easily. Say intrinsic width by default, min-width of x% of window and max-width of y% of window.
I would start off with just remembering the selected width - that would solve the ‘missing characters’ and make it an active choice to expand the sidebar.
But, I really do think that it would be a quick and easy fix to remove some annoyance.
hey @simon and @webworkshop we have implemented and launched this improvement.
