is there a way to keep the original _firstPublishedAt date after duplicating the project?

unfortunately not, as this is an internal field that reflects the actual publication date of a record. So it’s meant to be automatic and not user changeable.
If you need to preserve a publication date you should create a date field for that, maybe before duplication, in which you can copy your publication date?
