Not possible to leave the default value empty if I have a characters count requirement

I cannot save a Field with no default value if I also want to limit the number of characters.

are you editing the field via API or via yoursite.admin.datocms.com ? I can confirm there is a problem on our website when trying to remove an existing default value from an existing field with lenght validation. It does not affect a newly created field.
